Heavy on Images

Sketchbook stuff from summer to present. Current tiny sketchbook is for class, supposed to be a drawing a day... there's a good mix of terrible and okay, mostly lazy bad.

A sort of self-portrait, I suppose.

"What are you looking at?"
"I don't know... something, I think."

References used. Two kings of different eras and proportions.

I could say I was going for shock factor.

I like these dollar tree pens because they bleed, not blob. The only downside is that the ink runs out super fast.

Ho ho ho May my lack of wit convince you that I am a pervert, but only because my mum told me I was one.

This may just be an inner excuse for not being a great artist, but I am strangely drawn to shitty drawings. Maybe it's a hipster thing.

Quick in class still life. Whatevs.

Actually it's getting better, hooray for life non-sucking!

Ugh

I really like this white gel pen, but I'm not entirely sure how to fully utilize it without using a shitload of ink or without dying from sharpie fumes... because I hate sharpie smell.

Some poet said something like, "dark in the dark," and I thought it was cool.

Probably the day I forgot to put myself on the keylist and had to do a shit ton of shitty self-portraits.

I got that in a kinderegg. Their surPrizes suck now. So sad.

Ugh I saw a kid with a wolf tail at school the other week. Shortly after reading an Internet meme about hot topic ruining Internet memes ahahahahaha they are already ruins from birth

Note to everyone in the universe: Make spares of your keys. Especially your car keys in case you happen to lock your keys in the trunk of your car that doesn't have back seats that fold down and doesn't have automatic trunk opener by the gas tank release. FFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I haven't touched that comic like I said I would. I am a bad boyfriend.

Another in class still. Ever since watercolor however many semesters ago, I loathe paper bags. And yet one of the watercolors I did of paper bags is one of my favorites of my own pieces.

Da Vinci master copy. I have no idea how he makes these figures so natural and organic. I can copy fine, but how do I do it from the mindddd????

F UUUUUUUUU da vinci

I did it for the lulz. Messed up the faces.

My new muse is personified marshmallows. Seriously, not kidding. They bring me such inexplicable joy amidst their lonely groupings.

Eventually, this is how our band is going to be. Again, seriously, not kidding.

Concept sketches for a comic that will prolly look just about the same. I did a slightly larger version on newsprint, and the original original is in a notebook. I figure that if I draw it enough, something will happen.

haha jk NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.

Yeah.

I was waiting for everyone to finish the English test today and I just can't not write on something that's white and blank. That's like dangling a fresh vagina in front of a serial rapist (too graphic? my only excuse is that I am an artist.). So I drew a marshmallow man falling to his knees [repetitious image] near a ledge and I just... don't know. I was slightly [under-exaggerated] overcome by gassy laughter that I had to suppress due to the test not being done yet. Yet at the same time, while I couldn't help but smirk, I felt a tearful sadness about my eyes. It was weird. I came to the conclusion, as I constantly do [self-fulfilling prophecy?], that I am literally going crazy. But I guess that's okay if I'm therefore happy most of the time.

Breakfast of Champs

Just thought I should brag about getting high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.

Int. Painting: EVERYTHING THUS FAR mostly

Sorry this is super image heavy, but yep this is most everything so far from intermediate painting and then one from beginning drawing.

I'd say I had little bursts of inspiration throughout the homeworks, but overall I improved in that I got quite a bit faster... but also lazier. 8\

Homework [in chronological order, missing some that I've either already posted or just didn't bother posting]:

ahahahahahahahaha There was a point during critique where we just looked at this one for a while and everyone was saying stuff, but I couldn't help but laugh that we were looking at this so positively because... well... iono, it's just such a goofy image. Hilariously ridiculous, I thought.

And finally we're done with portraits, but now we're moving on to still lifes and the in-class/homework we were assigned for this week was RIDICULOUS [I'm not going to post it because it's stupid] because I totally don't get what we're supposed to be doing. My prof is really... artsy... and so she won't explain it in layman terms so that we won't understand it but think about it wrong. SIGH.

In-Class:

I like a lot of my in-class stuff more because it seems is so much more expressive, experimental, loose, and quick. Typically 5-10 minutes per painting. I'm still trying to have this practice transfer over to my homework assignments, so I'm trying to do them faster.

Beginning Drawing:

Ughhhh this class is taking forever. This is seriously the only critiqued assignment we've had so far. So. Boring. And I seriously am disappointed that there isn't really anyone in the class for me to aspire to. FFFFFFFFFFFF [later edit: I completely take that last comment back because when we started doing independent projects was where everyone's talents started to come out and each individual series of work related to the independent projects was amazzinnngggg. It was really exciting to see some people get really engaged in critiques and stuff and yeah iono. I am still learning very slowly, but surely to judge less harshly, in daily life and in art. whoop whoop]

In other news, see if you have a local Bike Kitchen. It's a really great volunteer opportunity and the community is amazing! Plus, other than volunteer, it's a great opportunity to learn about bikes 8D
